| Highly Accessible Commentary Feb 6, 2010 |
Though I have only read small portions of the overall commentary, this one is just what I would expect from Warren Wiersbe. The work is understandable and the format is easy to read. It is not a word by word exposition, but I knew that going in. I expect that combining it with the Bible Knowledge Commentary (Dallas Seminary faculty) would give a very thorough and theologically conservative commentary library. | | | Very informative! Very informative! Helps with a lot of scripture, even though he believes that apostolic gifts have passed away, the commentary is very concise and straight to the point. I recommend the commentaries. | | | Excellent resource! Aug 14, 2009 |
Commentary is well written and easy to understand. I appreciate Wiersbe connecting his commentary to other scripture to back up what he is saying. Although I may not necessarily agree with every conclusion or analysis he makes, his insight is superb and provides something to consider. | | | Wiersbe Bible Commentary May 28, 2009 |
This is a well-written, theologically correct commentary. We like it almost as much as J. Vernon McGee's books. | | | Scholarly and devotional... Apr 7, 2009 |
Warren Wiersbe's two volume Bible commentary is absolutely terrific... I've been using it today in Leviticus, and this often neglected book of the Bible really came to life. It is full of relevance and application for the New Testament believer.
Wiersbe's commentary is saturated with cross-references to other Scripture passages relevant to the text in hand. If you follow along with an open Bible you will spend literally hours feeding on the Word!
I would also highly recommend the Believer's Bible Commentary by William MacDonald, and The MacArthur Bible Commentary (although John MacArthur's commentary is somewhat less devotional).
There are so many Christian books and resources on the market today. Yet you can't go wrong with simply having a Bible and a good commentary, and absorbing the contents of God's precious Word. | | Write your own review about Commentary-Wiersbe Bible Commentary (2 Vol)
