| I bought the Nave's Complete Word Study Topical Bible, believing it to be a new, updated and revised edition of original Nave's wonderful reference tool i.e. Nave's Topical Bible that has been a favorite for over eighty years, and regarded as an indispensable tool for serious study of the Scriptures. However, when I sat down and went through it the first time, I was disappointed with the errors I encountered. Under the introduction section of "How to use the Translation Index", the arrows depicted to explain the syntax and symbols are mismatched. At page 1306, under heading "Praise", the reference to verses 1 Ch.16:8-36 and 1 Ch.29:10-19 erroneously mention the speaker as "Hannah" instead of "David". Probably, the editor Mr.Warren Baker does not know that Hannah's account is mentioned in Samuel and not in Chronicles. Hannah's name actually is mentioned in the earlier reference of 1 Sam.2:1-10 under "Praise" and her name again somehow reappeared inexplicably instead of David in the later references. Though I have not yet discovered any other mistake and found so many other topics very helpful, blunders like these make customers feel that they have wasted their money. I really can not afford to blindly trust all the contents of this Topical bible. I, in fact also wrote to the publishers of the book, AMG publishers, intimating them about these errors and to inquire whether proper proof reading of the material was undertaken before publishing it. | This topical bible is a great bible study resource. It puts numerouse topical bible references right at your fingertips, and it has a CD-ROM to boot. The format is easy to read and well spaced, which makes it useful for the seasoned bible scholar, as well as the occasional reading layman.
