| MATTHEW HENRY'S COMMENTARY ON THE WHOLE BIBLE Nov 4, 2006 |
I own 2 copies of this book. I find it useful in my studies the only down fall for me is that I wish the individual verses were in bold. |

| great book but hard to read Oct 24, 2006 |
The book is great but I have to give only one star, I was very frustrated to keep reading this book, the font are too small and you need a special magnified lens so you will be able to read unless you have a very sharp eyes. Not a good book to read for old people not because of its content but because of it printing style. Not practical to use even with this low price because for me its end up to put this great book aside because I do not want to get blind!!!. this review for 1991 edition. |

| Wonderful text but horribly heavy book! Oct 13, 2006 |
I checked this book out from a local library as a source for a research paper and found it extremely helpful. Henry goes into great detail on each passage, even those that seem at first self-explanatory. His insights helped me to think about familiar passages in new and deeper ways that I have never even heard preachers preach. So, in summation, the text itself is highly recommended. The book in which the text is packaged, however, is another story. It does contain the entire commentary in one volume, but this completeness has a price. The book is huge and so heavy it is painful to read it for very long periods. Further, the print is very small and the pages are thin. Definitely not the sort of book to read while taking a bubble bath! |

| Review of Matthew Henry Jul 24, 2006 |
This is an excellent publication!! I read it right along with my Bible. It offers expressions that compells one to think very deeply about how to use the word of God more fully in one's own personal life. My sister, Gail introduced me to this book. I'm forever grateful!! |
